Rugby World Cup 2007

Rugby World Cup has begun. In honor of this revered event we got to wear our team’s colors to work on Friday. Even though the All Blacks seem much more awe-inspiring, I decided to be patriotic and wear the Eagle colors-red, white and blue (yes, the USA does have a rugby team). We played our first game against England on Sunday. We were thrashed, but we went down fighting! Go Eagles! I didn’t even know the US had a rugby team until a few months ago. When I mention the Eagles around here, I’m just given pitying looks. There are high hopes for the All Blacks this year. The last time they won the World Cup was 20 years ago. The rehab unit is decorated in black streamers and black balloons all down the corridor. One brave Aussie put up one green balloon; however, it was promptly popped! I think next Friday when we can again wear our team colors I may just wear black. that way I don’t have to try and coordinate so many colors.

So did you take this picture or did you "borrow" it from some kind of professional haka dance photograper? I think your plan to wear all black next Friday is a good idea. You can support the Eagles (who knew?) when you come back to the States.
